# Kitchen Product Filter Update

## Overview
This update modifies the kitchen order system to only display and process kitchen products instead of entire orders. The system now filters orders based on whether they contain kitchen products, rather than using a simple checkbox.

## Changes Made

### 1. Database Changes
- **New Migration**: `2024_01_01_000000_add_is_kitchen_product_to_products_table.php`
  - Adds `is_kitchen_product` boolean field to products table
  - Default value: 0 (false)

### 2. Model Updates
- **Product Model** (`app/Product.php`)
  - Added `kitchenProducts()` scope to filter kitchen products
  - Added `nonKitchenProducts()` scope to filter non-kitchen products

### 3. Utility Updates
- **RestaurantUtil** (`app/Utils/RestaurantUtil.php`)
  - Modified `getAllOrders()` method to filter orders containing kitchen products
  - Changed from checking `is_kitchen_order` field to checking if order contains kitchen products

### 4. Controller Updates
- **KitchenController** (`app/Http/Controllers/Restaurant/KitchenController.php`)
  - Updated `markAsCooked()` method to only affect kitchen products
  - Updated `cancelOrder()` method to only affect kitchen products
  - Added product join to filter by kitchen products

### 5. View Updates
- **show_orders.blade.php** (`resources/views/restaurant/partials/show_orders.blade.php`)
  - Modified to only display kitchen products within orders
  - Updated order status calculation to consider only kitchen products
  - Added handling for orders with no kitchen items
  - Updated action buttons to handle orders without kitchen items

### 6. Seeder
- **KitchenProductSeeder** (`database/seeders/KitchenProductSeeder.php`)
  - Automatically marks common food/beverage products as kitchen products
  - Can be customized based on business needs

## How It Works

### Before (Old System)
- Orders were marked as "kitchen orders" using a checkbox
- Entire orders were sent to kitchen display regardless of product types
- All products in kitchen orders were processed together

### After (New System)
- Products are individually marked as "kitchen products"
- Only orders containing kitchen products appear in kitchen display
- Kitchen display shows only kitchen products from each order
- Non-kitchen products are filtered out from kitchen view
- Order status is calculated based only on kitchen products

## Benefits

1. **Better Organization**: Kitchen staff only see relevant items
2. **Improved Efficiency**: No need to process non-kitchen items
3. **Flexible Configuration**: Can mark any product as kitchen or non-kitchen
4. **Cleaner Interface**: Kitchen display shows only actionable items

## Usage

### Marking Products as Kitchen Products
1. Run the migration: `php artisan migrate`
2. Run the seeder: `php artisan db:seed --class=KitchenProductSeeder`
3. Manually update specific products in the admin panel

### Customizing Kitchen Products
- Edit the `KitchenProductSeeder.php` file to match your business needs
- Add/remove product names and categories as needed
- Run the seeder again after making changes

### Manual Product Updates
- Access the products table in your database
- Set `is_kitchen_product = 1` for products that need kitchen processing
- Set `is_kitchen_product = 0` for products that don't need kitchen processing

## Migration Commands

```bash
# Run the migration
php artisan migrate
# Run the seeder
php artisan db:seed --class=KitchenProductSeeder
# Rollback if needed
php artisan migrate:rollback
```

## Notes

- The `is_kitchen_order` field in transactions table is still maintained for backward compatibility
- Orders without kitchen products will show "No Kitchen Items" status
- Action buttons (Mark as Cooked, Cancel Order) are disabled for orders without kitchen items
- The system automatically filters out non-kitchen products from kitchen display
